Bulgaria has joined the Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure – European Research Infrastructure Consortium (BBMRI-ERIC) at its Assembly of Members held in Bologna on 23 May 2018. Bulgaria has become the twenty-first member of BBMRI-ERIC and will be represented by the Medical University in Sofia. In the coming months, the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science and the Medical University in Sofia will work closely with BBMRI-ERIC to establish the Bulgarian national biobank node.
